Numega held its Regional Update Day online on 7 September 2026, bringing together research findings and regional application experience to explore practical approaches to poultry nutrition, production efficiency and pathogen control.
Opened by Mr. Phon, it combined Numega’s latest research and technical updates with experience from Brazil, Oman and the wider Middle East, Europe, and Turkey to address local poultry nutrition, efficiency and pathogen control challenges while supporting performance and profitability.
Optimizing Energy Utilization with NT-PB
Dr. Marcelo, Numega’s Chief Technical Representative, Global Technical Service Director at Aviagen, USA reviewed genetic progress, feed conversion ratio (FCR) improvements, broiler feed energy reduction and NT-PB use in broilers and breeders. Trial findings covered potential energy utilization and production cost benefits, comparisons with conventional guanidinoacetic acid (GAA), and applications under challenging conditions.
Dr. Rais, Numega’s Technical Service Expert for South Asia and the Middle East shared Oman commercial trials reporting FCR improvements and economic benefits, covering supplementation from day one or the grower phase and relevance to broiler breeder performance.
The discussion covered energy matrix values, regional application, potential breeder fertility and hatchability effects, and balanced energy and amino acid levels across feeding phases.
Ms. Doreen presented preliminary findings comparing GAA and NT-PB under heat stress and mycotoxin exposure. Early results suggested differences in creatine metabolism favoring NT-PB, warranting further investigation.
Exploring Paraformic Acid’s Mode of Action
Ms. Doreen presented Numega’s in vitro research on paraformic acid’s pathogen inhibition mechanisms: disrupted intracellular pH balance, reduced ATP levels and bacterial membrane damage. Discussions compared effectiveness, safety and practical application with conventional organic acids and formaldehyde.
Mr. Marek, Key Account Manager of ETOS – Numega’s long time partner from Poland shared European experience using paraformic acid in feed and drinking water, including efforts to control Salmonella contamination and alternatives to formaldehyde.
Questions covered water pH, dosage and introducing acidification programs. Contributions from Vietnam and Poland emphasized adapting strategies to local conditions and customer needs.
Sharing Megacid Application Experience from Turkey
Ms. Ayfer, represents ETKIN – Numega’s Turkey partner shared experience from key integrated broiler operations in Turkey, discussing Megacid applications in feed and drinking water and practical acidification strategies to support broiler performance.
Introducing New Technical Tools
Mr. Vu introduced Numega’s new ABC3 & ABC4 Calculator.
Dr. Kasen – Numega’s Director delivered closing remarks. Discussions emphasized combining scientific evidence with field experience to tailor nutrition strategies to different production environments.
Numega thanks all speakers and participants for their knowledge sharing and regional collaboration.
